SLR 21-13.005: MANDATORY ARBITRATION PROGRAM

Except as otherwise specified in these rules, domestic relations arbitration shall be governed by the rules and regulations set forth in UTCR Chapter 13. (1) The court may require arbitration in any domestic relations case where the sole issues in controversy involve the division of property and debt unless the court finds good and compelling cause to exempt such a case from arbitration. An exemption shall be granted only upon the filing of a motion and affidavit setting forth good cause for the exemption sought. (2) This rule does not prohibit the parties from stipulating to arbitration of property and debt issues where there are other issues to be resolved by the court.
