OAR 581-055-0002: Purpose and Scope

ODE receives reports of possible sexual conduct and screens them to determine the response required under ORS 339.391. The purpose of OAR 581-055-0001 to 581-055-00014 is to describe: (1) The circumstances under which ODE is responsible to respond to a report of sexual conduct involving a student that may have been committed by an employee, contractor, agent or volunteer of an education provider; and (2) The requirements for screening and investigating a report of sexual conduct received by ODE on or after July 1, 2020.
