OAR 437-007-0750: Drum Brakes

(1) Brakes or dogs must be installed on all machine drums and maintained in effective working condition. (2) Machine drum brakes must have an independent locking device that will hold the drum when the operator leaves the machine and the machine is not operating. (3) Machine drum brakes must be protected from direct exposure to the elements or must be of a design or construction which will render them impervious to such exposure.
