OAR 437-002-0282: Job Planning and Layout

(1) Before starting operations, securely block portable equipment to prevent accidental movement. (2) Equip tanks, boilers, drums and similar containers with ladders for the use of welders and other workers when required for safe access and egress. (3) Do not allow welding equipment on elevated structures unless the structure is designed and built to support all loads imposed on the structure. (4) Design, lay out and operate work areas in a manner that prevents welding hose and cable from creating a tripping hazard.
