OAR 581-018-0205: Establishment: Dual-Language/Two-Way Bilingual Grant

(1) There is established the Dual-Language/Two-Way Bilingual Grant to support school districts and public charter schools to design, implement and improve dual language/two-way bilingual programs. The programs assist students in becoming academically proficient in two languages by providing research based enrichment schooling that closes the academic achievement gap in English and continues to develop a student’s first language. (2) Subject to available funds, the grants will be awarded for three years and in three phases: (a) Planning phase. (b) Implementation phase. (c) Program evaluation phase.
