OAR 340-051-0050: Guidelines for the Design and Operation of Animal Waste Control Facilities: Scope

The guidelines contained in this rule are recommendations for design and operation of animal waste water control facilities and are intended to supplement OAR 340-051-0020. They convey many of the criteria considered by the Department to conform to applicable design and operational practices. Alternative methods of control will be acceptable if they can be shown to provide fully equivalent control. Compliance with these guidelines will in most instances constitute satisfactory performance of the design and operation functions to which OAR 340-051-0020 apply. To the extent possible, the Department will reference applicable guidelines or appropriate sections of OAR 340, division 051 when it disapproves of submitted plans or requires improvements to facilities or their operations.
